The practical choice

Google Forms is the more direct live collection choice for teams already analyzing responses in Sheets. FormPico offers free-forever core editing, bilingual controls, and focused single-page design, but does not yet provide cloud responses or team collaboration.

Start with where the answers go

Google Forms can store responses in Google Sheets. For a team already filtering, analyzing, and following up from spreadsheets, the form becomes an entry point into an existing process. [2]

FormPico currently provides local response views and CSV export, with a manual handoff. It has no production Sheets sync, and its local published links cannot replace Google Forms for respondents on other devices.

Section routing has a specific scope

Google’s help article limits answer-based section routing to multiple-choice and dropdown questions. A selected answer can also end the form. This is section-based routing, not unrestricted branching for every field type. [3]

FormPico currently uses one page without executable conditional branching. Keep existing logic when a survey routes different audiences down different paths, unless you deliberately simplify it into separate short questionnaires.

Separate design preferences from collaboration

FormPico has English and Chinese controls, light and dark themes, in-place editing, and undo. Use it to refine question wording and inspect the reading order on a phone. [2]

Google Forms lets collaborators edit forms and analyze responses. If co-editing matters, check permissions and data access before switching. FormPico’s current workspace organization does not replace that service.

A rating question is not a graded quiz

Google Forms includes a quiz creation and grading workflow. Asking someone to rate their satisfaction is different from defining correct answers and assigning scores automatically. [2]

For a class test or training assessment, list requirements for answers, points, and result feedback first. FormPico is currently better suited to designing survey and feedback questions than serving as a complete quiz system.

Three checks before switching

  1. Back up responses and linked Sheets, and record sharing permissions and follow-up steps.
  2. Inventory section routing, quiz grading, and automations rather than copying only question text.
  3. Move only design work that can be previewed independently. Keep collaboration and live collection on a verified service.

Questions and answers

Can every Google Forms question branch by answer?

The official guide restricts answer-based routing to multiple-choice and dropdown questions, with sections or submission as the destination.

Can FormPico sync responses to Sheets?

There is no production Sheets integration today. Exporting local sample responses to CSV is different from automatic cloud synchronization.
