Lead capture forms
Design a lead capture form that asks for the minimum useful information, states what happens next, and is honest about how the contact will be used.
Ask only for what sales will use
A workable default is name, work email, company, and one qualifying question such as “What are you trying to solve?”. Every extra required field costs completions. If you later find a field is never read by anyone, remove it instead of leaving it in the form for symmetry.
Explain the exchange before asking
State what the person will receive and how often, for example “We will send one email with your trial link.” A short privacy note next to the submit button is more useful than a link buried in the footer. Never pre-tick a marketing consent box; consent has to be an active choice.
Check the handoff, not just the form
Decide who receives the entry, how quickly they respond, and what happens to duplicates. A form that collects contacts but has no owner produces no pipeline. Submit a clearly marked test entry and follow it all the way through before sending traffic to the page.
